Not trying to start a political debate. I was just wondering if anyone knows if they were shipped to all the different islands or just Oahu?

There were 600 (out of 67,000) that were screened for diseases and 87 tested positive for TB so it makes me wonder why the gov is splitting them up and flying them to all the states. We are getting them here in Florida as well but I thought Hawaii wouldn't be an option.

I have a friend is a medical director at a facility that has some of them and she said that they don't even speak Spanish, they speak some Indian type of village dialect and they are not even familiar with how to use bathroom facilites which is causing more disease risk. Being they each have to have a translator attend school with them, I would have thought it would be good to keep them in the same vacinity. Also, it could have helped them with their medical tests and treatment as well as keeping them together until they have their "hearings".

She also said her numbers are showing 84% of the "children" are 15-18 and they are males with facial hair and many have gang tattoo's. I think the media are the ones who still like to refer to them as "children" and the politicians (both sides) are too afraid to let the public know who is actually being shipped in that the communities have to pay for.

I have a friend, well, I 'say' friend, who is working with them at Kaneohe State Hospital, who said that not only are they not familiar with how to use the 'facilities', but that they also have a third eye, cleverly concealed in their dark, black hair, which is always combed forward. At least they're not cannibals...

Or are they???? Haven't heard from my 'friend' in days..........................

I haven't heard anything about this. I highly doubt they'd ship them here. The nearest asylum office is in LA I think

It should not be hard for local media to establish the facts about this.

To me, it sounds a lot like a hysterical, made up story, with no sense behind it.

According to the local media, eight Central American youth seeking asylum were sent to Hawaiʻi to be reunited with their families.

Folks in Hawaiʻi should probably be more worried about "illegal aliens" from Canada.

So 8 children, out of 30,000, were sent to Hawai'i because they had relatives here.

Big whoop-de-doo!
