I thought this was some kind of joke when I saw the headline on another forum but it's true. The town is named West New York. If it passes, the American Flag can't be flown anywhere or put in the window of a home or business. This is un-American if I have ever seen. This will upset many people who live there who wore the uniform. In a way, this is a slap in the face to them. The town should take in consideration and respect their freedom to fly the flag. They earned that right by serving their country.
Again, you exaggerate ... and speak of something you know little to nothing about. Show us, please, where the flying of the American Flag will be prohibited in this town. Otherwise, offer your apology to readers.
It looks like it was written to ban a wide assortment of signage deemed a distraction... and line F does read "flags, banners and pennants". Apparently the mayors office claims it's meant to only apply to commercial flags, and not the American flag... but it's defintely poorly worded.

So yes, your thread most certainly qualifies as a joke.
No it doesn't. The proposal will affect the flying of the American Flag..
