So I was reading popular mechanics and there was an article on "looping". Never heard of it. Apparently an artist records a short track of sound, plays it back (loops it), then records another tract, layering it over the previous tract and repeats the process. Once they have what they want they sing, with the loop providing background sound. This may not be an accurate description but that's not the point.

The point is they used Kawehi as an example of this process (apparently her grandfather gave her that nickname which means radio in Hawaiian). I looked her up on Youtube and was amazed at what she did. Although a lot of the music she creates isn't the typical stuff I listen to I can appreciate what she does. I was captivated watching her create this music by layering her own sounds. What grabed me is there are no instruments. You watch her build up the background then listen to the completed song, just amazing.

Since she's originally from Hawaii and I thought some of you might like to see/hear this.
