Except for the high cost of living and traffic I have no problem with paradise. But paradise is a mindset too. Sometimes I have to put a stop to my negitive attitude when stuck in traffic and realise I've lived in far worse places. Sure things can be better but things can be far worse too. Life in aloha is good. Bizarre weather we have been having.

For myself and a lot of business along Kam Hwy Pearl City and Aiea. The construction of rail system is a pain in the Pocket book (Restaurants), and traffic jams at different area's along the construction sights. Some have gone out of Business!
Last but not the least the price for construction keeps rising and a delay in the finish date keeps moving later down the road.
Ok, I'm finshed with my rant, feel better now!

I didn't know they sold those little paper umbrellas at Costco, JJ! You said you were out of them and then heading off to Costco......

Were you around when they were building the double decker part of Nimitz Highway? That makes the rail system construction look like a cake walk, believe it or not. Although there was less traffic then.

I wish we could get the train back on the Big Island. There used to be one that went from Pahoa to Hilo and from Hilo to Pauuilo. That's about seventy miles more or less, isn't it? And it was stone gorgeous they say, the part that went along the coast. It was either in a tunnel or on a bridge. Betcha if they rebuilt it, we'd have another tourist destination just in folks riding the train for the scenery.

That's a great idea! I would love to ride that train if it were rebuilt. I enjoyed the Sugar Cain Train when we visited Maui.

yes el nino big time this year. this year el nino produced multiple hurricanes. when these hurricanes come close to the islands, the trade winds stop. why? its the calm before the storm and we had hurricanes pass by all summer long. good thing non of them landed. we are heading into winter el nino, we should be fine, but california will flood. time to get landslide insurance.

anyone that wants money move off the island. this is not new york stupid. make your money before you come here. ok, im just kidding. if you are interested they are looking for the bell ringers in front of longs for the holidays.

hopefully, the rail system will be super speedy. because if not, such a waste of time, money, and sacrifice by businesses. so much sacrifice has been made for that rail system already.

Obviously Hawaii has to have some problems or everyone would move there. And I mean everyone. You have to let them figure it out for themselves. Its too crowded as it is. Some people have to move away back to the mainland. There's just not enough room. And the pollution that comes with too many people.
I can't believe that Hawaii is that humid. What happened to the trade winds? When did all this happen? Must have been pretty fast because I was just there a few years ago.
Thats like Orlando, walking a block to the store is a sweaty experience. At 6p its still too much. New Orleans was 92d at 4am and very high humidity.
