Where the containers get shipped out of is not the same thing as where they get loaded. I don't know of anyone who loaded up all their stuff in a truck and then went to the shipping yard and moved everything from the truck to the container there. In fact, I don't even know if Matson or Pasha would allow that. What normally happens is that the container is brought to your location where you load it, and then the moving or shipping company takes the container to the dock.
When I moved from Colorado, I didn't pack up a moving van and drive it to LA. I hired Matson, who brought the container to my house. I hired a local moving company to pack the container for me. Then Matson came back, picked up the container, and took it to the west coast shipping location.
Is Oakland close to LA or San Diego? A lot of stuff is shipped out of Oakland for some reason. Guess I could look at a map of California if I cared, huh?
anyone who is looking to ship knows containers only go out of 2 places: LA or San Diego. IT doesn't matter where you are in CA
You can have a container dropped right on your doorstep for loading. Thats what the questioning is about. What is the origin city?
You don't have to haul all your crap to a port that is miles or hundreds away.
Leave that mainland snark in Cali.
