Merry Christmas to all you dedicated Hawaii posters. Now that we've survived 2016, I can't really say that I looking forward to 2017, but here we go, Ready or Not!

No worries! 2017 will be jolly. We can all just go to the beach and ignore all politics. At least, until we get so sun burnt we have to stay in all day and pay too much attention to the idiot box again.

Wishing everyone joy!
(And if you can't find her, then maybe some eggnog instead. With rum. Ha! Unless you prefer okolehau in your eggnog?)

Mele Kalikimaka me ka Hau'oli Makahiki Hou!

Merry Christmas hotzcatz. I come on this site every now and then; you have always been one of the more down to earth and seemingly very caring posters this site has. I have many relatives on the Hilo side of where you are. The Big Island has a special warmth from the people.

As for this year; I am optimistic to say the least about our future POTUS. They use to say we only used 10% of our brain and that old dogs could not learn new tricks (so to speak). Now that we know it's all bull, let's have fun this year.

*blush* Thanks, Tyvin!

It's always good to be hopeful about things and it's even good to have bull around, especially when it's time to fertilize the garden. I'm expecting a very fertile garden this year.

Hilo side is a great place to have relatives. Hilo is a good town, very comfortable and laid back. A lot of different folks like Hilo, I even saw a snowman there last week! Woot!

Happy New Year to you all, being's how Christmas is done and gone :-). Looking forward to our second-annual 2 week winter visit on the BI this February, and our biggest hope is that we get our spare house sold, and can buy our Hawaii home THIS YEAR. Wish us luck!

I hope you all have a better year than you could possibly have hoped for :-).

A real one? Now that's an industrious project.

My daughter loves the blow up yard Santas so common there, as they're not to be found in Alaska.

Someone brought snow down from the mountain and built a snowman on the beach. There was also a snowman over by Tex Drive Inn, too, so maybe it's the beginning of an invasion?

Young kids aren't supposed to go up the mountain because the elevation is too high for them, so folks bring the snow down in the back of a pickup truck so the kids can meet snow.
