How short our memories are, of history at least. I would not like what the OP is doing... only because I may want it for myself, and I did not think of it first, or know where this place is. At least I admit it!

That's not really true, I don't care, I'm way over here in Houston, Texas. But to those who say 'why don't you work for it', why 'steal it', and ..., I say did your ancestors not lose their lands to others? Didn't the US practically steal the Hawaiian Islands from the indigenous people years ago? If your ancestry is not from the Hawaiian Islands, then how about the mainland. Did not the Europeans steal the land from the Native Americans?

I always shake my head when I hear people talk about how they are oppressed, illegal immigrants, Mexican Americans on border towns, and black people because of slavery. Each side feels like they are owed something, and someone took something from them. They are correct, but the one group who I truly empathize with are the Native Americans

I am certain that many reading this will have no idea what I am talking about. Some will, by logic, agree. But one really needs to study what happened with the Native Americans. If you won't read, there is one epic series on the matter, I think it is on Amazon Prime, if you have it. It is called 'The West', and narrated by Ken Burns. It is long, I think five, or six episodes, two hours each, but it is powerful, and will teach you everything about what happened to the Native Americans, and their way of life. I recall the original airing many years ago, and I will say, the quality did not bother me then, but with the 4K tv I have now, well, it is painful to watch.

Now, I'm not knocking the groups that I'm about to speak of, they suffered for sure. But unless you watch the series, you will not know the extent of their suffering. It is one thing to suffer, but then have a place to sleep, food to eat, etc. The Native Americans had none of that, jobs did not exist, they lived off the land that was taken from them. It fed them, sheltered them, clothed them, etc.

The BLM, Civil Rights movement, La Raza, don't have it as bad as the Native Americans had it, or were treated, and how they lost everything. Everything, even their culture. And the promises made, treaties signed, were just ignored, or struck down years later. Now that is someone who can complain about people squatting on their lands, and taking it away. It is not new, it happened before.

If the OP can find a way to claim it, and stay on it for 20 years, well he's a lot more honest that the Europeans, and later Americans were.

OP cannot answer you, he's squatting in a prison cell right now. If he stays for 20 years, it'll be his to claim, without a roomie. At least that's what his ACO told him.
