Did they intermarry with the current Hawaiian people, or did they die out? Are there people that trace their ancestry back to them?

They are still there. A lot of the Marquesas women wear lovely skirts with appliqued designs on them so they can be pretty easy to spot. I see them at the store, around town, here and there. They like yard sales, too.

I've heard a lot of them live in OceanView in sort of a communal group, but I don't know that for certain. As to who they're dating or marrying, I haven't a clue. There would be some intermarrying, one would expect, but they also have their own language and culture, so one would expect that would keep them within their own cultural group to be comfortable.

Thanks. Must be interesting to live there with so many cultures. I have visited, but not for a while, and only Maui and Kauai.

Most areas have multiple cultures, don't they? We just get Pacific Island ones instead of Northern European ones like New York City seems to have. L.A. has multiple cultures, but those are different types as well.

Sure I get that. Every area has a different mix, that's what I mean.

Is OP talking about the inhabitants that were in Hawai'i when the Polynesians originally landed and not the newer influx of Marshallese?

Ooops! Different Marshallese, then! I was talking about the current ones, not historical ones.
