Just got to the mainland. It actually feels exhilarating to not deal with the wackiness in Hawaii.
I've been here a couple of weeks and see no difference. Where are you, Podunk? What is exhilarating you? I do agree that we have some wackiness in Hawaii, but there is plenty to go around on the mainland.

Well duh, but no showgirls, no shows, no buffets, no nite clubs and hotels closed except the weekends. What's there? I mean other than that gambling thing.
LOL you go to Vegas to avoid the "wackiness" of Hawaii? To each his own...
Definitely to each his own, though I can see how Vegas (or anywhere with not as serious of a lockdown as Hawaii) would be a blessing for Hawaii residents today. While I'm dying to get back to Hawaii, I write that as one who is not subject to an intense lockdown where I am now.
Speaking of Vegas generally, I did enjoy my time there, but probably wouldn't do another solo trip. But, again, this is all in a non-Covid environment/period and perspective.
As far as Vegas is concerned. The hotels “closed” on weekdays actually have the gaming floor open just rooms not for sale although many are open 7 days a week. Shows are starting back up - practically everything is open - and I’m past my nightclub days. Besides less people, practically the same.
