Regardless - thanks for posting that, looks like I'll switch my return flight to Hawaiian and get tested in Vegas. At $950 for a First Class seat one way is ridiculously expensive - but oh well.
There hasn't been First Class since early March. May trip had no beverage service and October was beer and wine and a packaged sandwich like you would get at an ABC store. For a single you have more room being able to spread out over three seats. Also no movie devices. On the plus side they had ice in October!

I'm doing the lie flat seat with entertainment built into the seat - they've added back regular food and beverage

The website still shows that beverage service is can or bottle except NYC and BOS and meal service is a one tray deal. But, other than water you get nothing in the back! It will be interesting to see things roll beck to the usual.

Kauai has asked the Governor to opt out of the Safe Travel program - will be interested to see if he approved it.

Feel bad for all the hotels/small businesses that will have to shut down for essentially 1-3 cases a day. The treatment - in my opinion, is far worse than the sickness when it comes to shutting down.

An interesting development: Returning residents are more often infected with Covid-19 than visitors.

Makes sense. I’ve always thought the residents of Hawaii to be a fairly reckless bunch.

It’s not just a matter of recklessness. They’re more likely to have close local contacts to spread the virus about:

.“Our surveillance study showed that the rate of COVID for our returning residents was about five times higher than for general travelers who got the test,” said Lt. Gov. Green. “Returning residents, you know, we then go and have our college students come back in, or we see our parents for the first time in while. That’s how we get spread.”

More people died from suicide in Japan last month than from Covid in all of 2020. You can lock them down but you may still kill them
