The red states aren't really getting the "leavings" of blue states - when Oracle moves to Texas, it isn't like 135,000 employees move with them - a handful of executives will move - the bulk of the employees will stay put or move wherever they want to move. The emerald towers as bay area folks call them will remain in Redwood City.

Oracle before the move had 4,500 employees in Texas - they expect that to grow to 10,000 - less than 10% of the workforce

The issue is that the funding for it came from confiscating those dollars from private citizens and using it for some social function. The constitution also calls for providing for the general welfare of citizens. That could certainly include providing healthcare. But, any suggestion of socialized medicine, just like socialized police force, gets the right wing screaming "Socialism".

Reasonable people can have a discussion about what functions should be socialized or not. But, to accept police and fire services, and then scream "Socialism", as if all socialized functions are evil, about things like healthcare or public education, is just intellectually lazy.
