The surfboard fire has been on the evening news repeatedly. Not really much to talk about.

The guy who started the fire was caught on multiple cameras. He also started a fire a week or two back.

Well the fact that he has over 16 incidents with the law and has only been here about a year from Cincinnati! Almost a million dollars in damages and expenses. Yeah, just another day in paradise.

And this has been the second fire there behind the police station.

Hawai'i legal system. The first 15-20 infractions are on the house. After that though, you might be looking at a ticket.

The only worthwhile thing to talk about is it is probably not a good idea to store a surfboard at the Moana Surfrider - and given the properties historical significance, I suspect the mgmt at the Surfrider wouldn't be excited if another surfboard storage is placed next to the hotel.

I think it is worthwhile to talk about why a person can come to the island and wreck havoc on the citizens. Guess who is paying for this. We're talking about just one person causing close to two million dollars of havoc.

Not exactly unique to Hawaii.

Over 100 arsonists arrested in California this year - even Yoga teachers are setting the blazes

I saw the segment on the news, thought it was about the LAST fire.

Well it seems that those people
1. Had a job
2. Didn't travel 5000 miles to do their deed
3. Did not have 16 police incidents within a year of their arrival
4. Were not allowed to run amuck in a resort area.

Outside of Hawaii I think that would make him unique.
