Do any of you know what kind of wetsuit to use in Hawaii? When surfing in the Winter are spring suits good? Are shorties okay in the Fall and Summer?

For kiteboarding, what do people use?

OR...what's the average water temp in each season...?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

For surfing, you can get away with just your shorts year round -- though you will probably end up shivering during winter months. Summer, during the day on the water you can get hot without taking a dip every so often. Anyway, here you go:

Most of people can surf in just shorts an rushguard year around. On winter, if you like to be very warm and you spend a lot of time in water you may want to use 2mm spring suit.

That sounds great! Do you know anything about kiteboarders? Is it about the same? My husband kiteboards and may get a full, but I think that a full would be way too hot no matter what time of year it is.
