Aloha Everyone,

My husband and I went to Mama's Fish House a couple years ago. It was a most memorable dinner and the atmosphere can't be beat. However; It cost us about 200 bucks when it was all done and said, and thats without cocktails (as we don't drink). Ha! thought this would save us, but no... an ice tea was like $15. But, it was all worth it totally. We will be back in Maui this July along with our 21 year old daughter. We would like to take her to Mamas, but not for dinner I'm afraid. Would anyone know what the prices are for lunch?

Many Mahalos,
Kelly4Sun

What exactly makes it worth it? There is no excuse for an iced tea costing $15. It sounds like after spending that much money you have to justify it by convincing yourself it was worth the money

It was worth the money for a one time event. It was a wonderful experience. We loved it! But,to do it again is another story. Thats why I'm asking what the lunch prices are

What made it a good experience for $200? You can get a helicopter ride for less than that!!

Curiosity got the better of me and I had to look since this is not the first time I've heard of Mama's.

Next time I'm on that island I definitely will go after reading the reviews. It appears the lunch prices aren't that high and people like it just as well as the dinner experience (but I will definately do the dinner since there are such high raves about it).

It's a five star restaurant and the prices are not out of line for that caliber of dining experience.

Some people are into helicopters and spend their money on such.

Some people are into food and are willing to pay to have a world-class room of chefs prepare a meal for them.

I don't see what the big deal is. There are a lot of restaurants where getting out with a $200 bill is dining "light." It's not hard to spend a couple thousand dollars when you've got the money (and a taste for wine!)

For the record, I'm not personally this into food, but people have their passions.

Everything is relative. So good to hear the poster enjoyed the experience, and felt it worthwhile. A nice change from complaints!

Some people think nothing of stopping at Starbuck's for a $5 cup of coffee, while others say they can make coffee at home for a fraction of the cost.

Some people will pay for a yard service, while others will do their own.

Some people will pay the added costs for a new or fast or fancy car, while others will drive the same vehicle for decades.

Some people will be sports minded, and spend lots of money to go see their favorite team while wearing expensive team outfits.

People spend the money they have, and buy what delights them.

If someone wants a great experience, they'll pay for it and be happy about it.

How many world class chefs does it take to make $15 iced tea?

This is a riddle, right? I can do this! Wait, wait, just a sec ...

I'm just kidding with you. It sounded like the beginning of a joke.
