My experience with them is terrible.
They make you get "prior authorization" for some medications (which I had never heard of in my life and I'm 64).
Long story short- they will not pay for the insulin (Tresiba) that I'd been using for the last year. Medica covered it with no problem but Ambetter says it cost too much and they will not pay for it UNTIL I have tried all of the cheaper insulin's first.
Ambetter is getting my tax credit of $1040 every month from the government and will not give me the medicine that has worked for me.
I sent in an appeal in which Ambetter didn't respond.
I've talked to healthcare.gov and the lady told me others have called in also to complain about this same thing.
I wish I could make them pay for what they are doing.

I have Ambetter through ACA and also 64 at $850 a month premium. Although I have a high deductible plan so haven't actually USED it yet. The adjustments in billing because I have insurance have made the billings at least reasonable in my estimation. What is the $1040 tax credit? or is that a low income thing? just curious?

4khansen, thank you for replying.
You pay $850 a month premium? I could never afford that.
My premium is $55 a month.
I guess the $1040 tax credit is for poor people...?
