I was set to give my 2 week notice on Monday (6/15) because I am totally changing careers to one I love/ fulfilling spiritually, from one I do not like which is making me sick.
*However*
I went for my yearly exam on Friday (6/12) and they gave me a blood test for something horrible I cannot type because I am petrified.
Question: If I go ahead and quit on Monday, but my test results come back with something, am I going to be screwed and just get sick and die because it is "pre-existing"? They did not say, but I would think test results would come back next week.

Oh my, what terrible timing! It’s possible the new company’s health insurance won’t pick you up but if they don’t, you’re in the window to sign up for Obamacare so you might want to start looking into that now. I wish you luck!

It depends on the employer. Mine never required any kind of medical questions or exam when I started there, I just chose the medical plan I wanted and started to use it. One problem though, is if you need time off for the treatment of the condition. Some employers, like mine, does not let you use sick leave or vacation until passing the 6 month probation. There is also the possibility of disability insurance. I would probably not give notice yet, at least without verifying more details with the new employer. Do you know anyone working there? It could be hard to get the information while not letting them know. I hope you can figure it out, and I hope your blood test results are clean!

You need to take a breath here OP. You don't know anything. Why are you terrorizing yourself over something that hasn't happened and may never happen? Have you already landed a job you want or will you be looking for it?
Maybe the best thing to do is nothing...DON'T hand in your notice until you get that test result. It could change everything about this job you now despise. Once you get the results, either hand in your notice or don't hand in your notice and re-evaluate your options. If a job you say you hate will provide uninterrupted medical benefits your opinion about its value might change a lot. It could also simply buy you time to search for a different job in a different way. The criteria you use to find a better job could also change a lot!
You know what they say about choosing the lesser of two evils, right? Or, to put a more humorous spin on it, as Russell Crowe's character punned in Master and Commander...The Far Side of the World while staring at two insects crawling around on a piece of stale bread..."we are supposed to pick the lesser of two weevils".
