I am self employed and do not qualify for a subsidy for an ACA plan. The only ACA plans in my area are far too expensive with very high deductibles.....which means that I would be paying so much monthly for the insurance that I could not afford to go to the doctor at all unless I have had something catastrophic happen and have met my $10K deductible.
I've had Liberty Healthshare for 3 years, and was pretty happy until recently. They have gotten very slow on paying bills, and I am questioning whether some have been paid at all, even though LHS shows that the amount was "shared" and shows the check number.
I am looking into some options and I have heard good things about Sedara and Zion Health share. Does anyone have any experience with them?
I am also looking into a concierge medical practice that partners with various health sharing companies. I just stumbled upon this, so I plan to check with the practice and find out which health sharing plans are reimbursing them.
It's not real health insurance, as long as you're okay with the risks and limitations, it sholdn't be any worse than Liberty.
