I had to go a few times to a county site for a free covid test for my work. The county says all tests are free. I went 2.5 months ago until last month. I have UHC as my insurance. The county asked me for my health insurance info so I gave them my insurance info (the county website says people with no insurance still receive free testing). The UHC website says "I may owe 170 dollars" (it says the amount billed each time by the county was 261 dollars and the plan covered 91 dollars so I may owe 170) for each time I went to the site. I know that the EOB is not a bill and that the county will not send me a bill for the rest because the tests were free to all people. so should I just ignore what the UHC website says?

Ignore what? It clearly says you "may owe" which translates to you may or you may not owe. Thousands of EOB's are sent with potential amounts owed because the billed amount and the pay amount are off, but the patient may never ever see a bill because they don't charge for anything not covered by insurance or the government. So you have nothing to ignore because all you have is a generic statement (thousands like that are sent every day) that says you may owe but it doesn't mean you will owe.

It's highly unlikely the county will send you a bill. Covid Testing has zero cost share per the Federal Mandate.
