Here it is, 3 am, and I can't sleep due to pain and worry. I've been tossing and turning for hours.
I've already taken all I can, Ambien, tylenol #3, motrin, nothing seems to really help. I made a heating pad of rice---put dry rice in a pillow case and microwave it, or put in old socks. they really seem to help, just pack them around my body, and prop with pillows. That and watch old movies, I love Turner Classic At least I don't have to work tomorrow.
My mother used to call it the Night Devils. when you just ache all over and are mentally dragged out. she said the only real relief is the coming of morning. Guess I have a few more hours to go..................
You aren't the only one that is hurting. I have an ear problem that keeps me up every night til 9 in the morning...Driving me crazy..I hope you feel better soon....
Deep muscle relaxation is a technique that works wonders for most people. You can google it if you can't get to a library or bookstore. Although guided practice with a therapist or psychologist is best, you can learn it on your own. Practice a minimum of 3 times per day-early a.m., noonish, bedtime, and any time you awaken.
I've been hurting really bad too. I usually cry and then once I got my cries out I try to breathe deep and meditate and cuddle with my animals and do some energy work on myself. I imagine the weather must be killing you right now cause I know it's killing me right now. I really hope you feel better soon, Marylee!
A good way to help you fall asleep is to let all the worries and thoughts pass away from your mind. heh
