For all you runners/long distance joggers (that would be my 'category'!) what foods do you eat to give you the fuel you need to keep going?
I've tried those energy bars but it seems to do little for me. The only thing I've noticed that helps is rice-based foods. It really gives me that extra "nudge". My husband thinks it's funny b'c I grew up on rice so I've probably trained my body to use rice-based carbs efficiently.
Anybody ever do interval training? I'm thinking about doing a 5K but I don't want to be a "loser". 3 miles is no biggie but it takes me between 40 to 45 min to do it. I hear interval training works but just wanted to see if anybody can give any advice.
Although i don't eat Grains like i used too the top carb for power fuel in my lifelong workouts was always Oatmeal .....I'd add Whey Powder Dutch Chocolate flavor (Optimun Nutrition's) with a Teaspoon of Olive Oil and Green Tea (2 bags) and Green Tea Extract and i'd have energy thru the roof.....
If you want to build and maintain muscle mass, I can strongly recommend thiWhey Protein from. Very good value for money. Check it out and good running
