The kit to allow home use HIV testing will be available in stores this fall.
--Positive result with this test does not mean that an individual is definitely infected with HIV, but rather that additional testing should be done in a medical setting to confirm the test result.
--Similarly, a negative test result does not mean that an individual is definitely not infected with HIV, particularly when exposure may have been within the previous three months.

HIV is not a gay disease and can happen to women & men of any sexual preference. if you dont know your status, I encourage you to get tested.

I don't know at the time what the kit will cost but it is for your own peace of mind. If you have had unprotected sex, or exchange body fluids this kit is definitely for you.
It doesn't matter if your in a long term relationship or single.

There is no symptoms for having HIV and can take months or years for AIDS to develop which can have horrible complications.
Yes there is very good costly medicines (around $1200 a month) to treat HIV- AIDS but once you start you have to take them everyday at the same time for rest of your life.
If a dose is skipped your viral numbers jump up and the body become resistant to the meds.

Due to high rate of promiscuity in this country, it best to be safe and know your status and get tested is an important factor in the effort to prevent the spread of HIV.
