I noticed it this evening after washing dishes i was wondering if mine was a bite too i used peroxide and paulmolive (forgive the spelling) anti bacterial dish soap to clean it... is it possible its a yellow sack spider? the apartment i live in seems to have them horribly.

That is so weird. I had something similar on my finger this summer. It started off like a small scratch and it itched and then swelled up and looked infected, though it only hurt mildly. I thought it was a splinter but never could get anything out of it, and yes, I'm a picker. Can't help it. It turned into a callous and then sloughed off and now it's completely gone. It wasn't that red though.
