I'd rather have the flu today than Cancer from the Vaccine later.
I know you all think it is safe and for most it probably is but why would this need to be enacted?
The 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act was passed was to protect pharmaceutical companies from anyone claiming a vaccine injured their child. Under this law, no parent can sue a vaccine manufacturer.
Can you find a single scientific case report of flu vaccine causing cancer?
Those with true complications from vaccines, which are rare and not the fault of manufacturers, can receive compensation without having to sue the drug company.
"The topic of vaccine safety became prominent during the mid 1970s with increases in lawsuits filed on behalf of those presumably injured by the diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus (DPT) vaccine. Legal decisions were made and damages awarded despite the lack of scientific evidence to support vaccine injury claims. As a result of these decisions, liability and prices soared, and several manufacturers halted production. A vaccine shortage resulted and public health officials became concerned about the return of epidemic disease. To reduce liability and respond to public health concerns, Congress passed the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (NCVIA) in 1986."
The law provides an opportunity to sue, however:
"The law preserved the right for vaccine injured persons to bring a lawsuit in the court system if federal compensation is denied or is not sufficient."
Your are concerned about a complication that does not happen and you believe that people with true complications from vaccines cannot get compensation, which is false.
By the way, people with cancer are at increased risk of complications of influenza, including death, and they should take the vaccine (the shot, not the nasal mist version).
How effective does it need to be to justify the "bother"?
It is more effective in certain populations and when the vaccine matches the circulating viruses in a given flu season. This year, the majority of the virus is a strain covered by the vaccine (AH1N12009), and effectiveness against that strain may be much higher, approaching 80%.
"Thus far, physicians and infection control practitioners directly involved with patient care of H1N1 cases in Mexico, the US, and Canada have unanimously indicated ICU admissions and fatalities are seen in unvaccinated patients."
"t is our belief that, from the perspective of those individuals who have chosen not to vaccinate for this year's influenza, we are basically seeing another pandemic wave of H1N1 transmission with the associated potential for severe clinical outcomes. For those who are vaccinated, the experience is a mild one."
"We have observed through direct clinical experience that anti-vaccination sentiment, particularly for influenza, remains strong in the US and are tied to politics. It is clear to those of us monitoring the situation that such views have a mortality rate."

Ran into a friend last night...told us he'd been sick as a dog with the flu for over 2 weeks. Lost 9 pounds, high fever, didn't want to eat. Everything ached.
He had had a flu shot.
We're taking lots of Vitamin C, zinc, and Vitamin D as a preventative measure. Hopeful we'll dodge the bullet.
Since the flu shot takes two weeks to be effective, I'm sure there are many people who get the shot after having been exposed to the flu or having been exposed to it in the two weeks immediately after getting vaccinated. In those cases the flu shot cannot protect them.
I'm surprised they didn't require you to get a flu shot if you were volunteering in a nursing home - not so much to protect you as to protect the residents!

A good reply!!!
DONT MAKE IT HARDER FOR YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM BY INJECTING GARBAGE INTO YOU!!

Actually, the immune system has a much harder time dealing with infections than it does vaccines. That is why infections kill people.
