I had invasive spinal transthoracic T6-T7 disc removal surgery and fusion a month ago. The surgical pain is gone, but I have greatly intensified nerve pain from my spine, wrapping around my side to my chest cavity and stomach area. I am on Lyrica and heavy duty narcotics. I cannot sit, stand or lay down flat anymore due to severe pain. Even the surface of my skin hurts to touch. I can barely walk from one end of the house to the other. Brushing teeth, shaving or showering is a nightmare. I cannot sleep at night due to pain. I am a walking zombie. Surgeon claims the surgery went fine and my nerves were not damaged, but he cannot explain the dramatically increased nerve pain which is not going away. I am seeing my pain management doctor next week. What should I say? What can I do? What is my future? Life sucks right now. I can't do or enjoy anything.....AT ALL.

PLEASE......Any thoughts, insight or anything would be appreciated. Thx.

Prius, I have nothing additional to recommend that your Doctor hasn't already. Hopefully, your pain management Doctor will help. I just want you to know that I'm (and many others) keeping you in my thoughts and wish you all the best and a speedy recovery.

Thank you very much Vauganwilliams. It is very much appreciated. I would actually rather be dead than to have this continue much longer.
