Sedentary Lifestyle As Bad As Smoking, Increases Heart Failure Risk In Men - Health News - redOrbit

If I'm inferring correctly, sitting 5 hrs. or more per day is a risk for heart failure even if one exercises regularly.

Well let's see .... 16 years in classrooms, 30 years in a sedentary job, and the last 17 years in retirement, watching TV, staring at a PC monitor, doing crossword puzzles, & reading books .... in other words 63 yrs. of prolonged sitting. It's a miracle I reached age 70. I wonder if that would have been the case with 63 yrs. of smoking cigarettes.
