I have chronic mild insomnia (noting new, it has been this way since childhood). I have seen quite a bit of research about how having one improves your sleep. This is on my resolution list.

I have identified 3 things i want to focus on: turning off the screens 45-60 minutes before bed, read before bed to wind down (but not on my ipad, e-ink or physical books) and some light yoga to decompress.

So what is your sleep ritual?

'Ive had insomnia for most of my adult life

I find a hot shower/bath about two hours before bedtime helps me.

I've always read at night but the last few years I've given myself permission to read more "fluff". I no longer read the news or about things that might be upsetting before bedtime. Same with TV - told my husband no more History channel, true crime shows, Criminal Minds type shows, etc... If we watch something like the Walking Dead before bedtime, I like to have some sort of "palette cleanser" afterwards.
