You don't need your fingers to be cut all the way to the quick just because you're a musician. You just have to have the pads of your fingertips unencumbered for work on the neck/fretboard of stringed instruments. Even if you play an concert-sized harp, there's no reason for your fingernails to be that short.
Get a manicure. Use a nail file. Use clippers. People have already told you what to do and there's already been one or two videos in this thread you can check for visual instructions. I don't use my front teeth to bite my nails, my top and bottom front teeth don't touch either. I use my first molars. This isn't rocket science or brain surgery here.
I have my girlfriend bite my nails. She's an avid nail-biter her nails are very very short. Let's say her experience makes her an expert. She succeeded in reducing My Nails length to half of what it used to be. Originally I did this at her request because basically she ran out of nails and while watching TV she decided on her own to do that. Over time it became like a habit of ours.
