number 9 is gaining in popularity and very valid from a scientific point of view. Taking a specimen of feces from a healthy person and giving it to someone not so healthy has promise.... probiotics really do not do the trick and the bacteria in almost all of them do not populate the digestive track and rather get killed.

I culture my own kefir using kefir grains which contain trillions of active bacteria and yeasts in a cup so I'm no stranger to probiotics... frankly I notice no effect from drinking it other than my own personal enjoyment.
Most pill probiotics are overpriced and relatively tame compared to home cultured stuff unless you break the pills open and culture them in milk which I've down with a popular probiotic called "align" ... cultured in store bought milk at room temperature it turns into a neutral tasting thin drink a similar consistency as kefir but not as sour and more smooth.
In any case most probiotics are not native to the intestinal tract and do not actually colonize it and their effect is temporary. Also the main purpose of stomach acid is to kill bacteria to prevent infections from spoiled food... stomach acid kills many of the strains unless they are enteric coated. This is why the fecal transplants have promise.
These pills must do something though because they get such great reviews.

There are several strains of well-studied probiotics in this stuff, and it's engineered to get past the stomach and even make it to the large intestines. I'm not concerned with reviews and testimonials.
I like the idea of frozen poop pills that can be taken orally. I wonder what flavours the come in? Yuk!!!
On the more palatable side, I've been taking a probiotic with a range of species and I can report that my poop is now much better than before. Too much information I know but I didn't start this thread.
