What age did you fellow women notice perimenopausal symptoms? I know my mom went through menopause early, around 40. I'm talking about mental confusion, fluster, etc.
I remember my mom as loving and patient as a small child, but somewhere around 3rd grade she became a monster and abused us girls (physically/emotionally). This is around the time menopause would have been setting in. (of course there were a few other factors that could have triggered this change as well).
Did any of you experience mental aggitation due to menopause?

I did not even notice when my mom went through menopause, she went through it around age 45 she told me. I am 44 and have had some perimenapause symptoms but nothing has changed drastically and I still get my period but it lasts 3-4 days instead of 6.

My mom had extreme hot flashes. We definitely noticed those.

my mom went through it at around 45, older sister about same age. I have some perimenopausal symptoms, period is all around the world - sometimes nothing - sometimes 7 days and nasty clotty, (before this it was not bad - 3 days on 1 day off and 1 more day on). I'm 50.

Started perimenopause in late 20's - went through it completely in late 30's - wasn't a monster as far as I know!! Did have the hot flashes, etc. (I also have Fibro. and CFIDS so memory lapses are attributable to all) - it's certainly not an excuse to be abusive - what are you asking exactly?

I am 44 and the only symptoms I have had so far are with my skin. Acne a bit more often and lingers much longer. Even though it is still considered "minor", it bothers me a lot. My neighbor who is a Dermatologist said it is not uncommon with perimenopause. She gave me some topical ointment, but I am about to go back onto the pill specifically to counter the acne (husband had a vasectomy, so I don't need it for BC).

I never had any symptoms....no agitation, no PMS...nothing that affected me or mine! My periods were regular (for me, anyway) until they stopped. Exactly 40 years after they started! I now have hot flashes that have been ongoing for 7 years....sucks. I think I take after my grandma....she "flashed" for 30 years!!!

I had my last period at age 55...lucky, lucky me! For 2 yrs. before that, I had hot flashes...my face would flush & scalp sweat; at night in bed, I would wake up soaked in sweat... happened at least 4x/mo. Also was very tense & irritable right before period...and I had them every 3 weeks, cramping, heavy flow, clots. Also began having awful insomnia, which hasn't resolved to this day. Now I know why it used to be called "the change", what an understatement!
