Folks have been doing this for a long time...it's nothing new...maybe the graphics are more involved....
This is mainly teens..and teens, as we all know, are pretty damn stupid.
Yep, we did this when we were kids too but on a much less artistic level. Usually it involved bandaids or string around our wrists and ankles to make a white line. We didn't intentionally burn our skin, but we did try to get the tan as dark as possible to make the lines distinct.
This was back when parents used baby oil and iodine on their children and themselves to give them a golden tan, and put pure zinc oxide in a stripe on our noses to keep the nose from burning. No one thought of skin cancer back then, it wasn't a talked-about "thing" til the 70's.
