I wear support hose, those thick ted hose type things...prescription from Doctor, during the day when I am experiencing this. Sitting in front of a computer a long time doesn't help. Walk and get lots of movement....Sounds like you are trying with the swimming and gym, good job. Talk to your doctors again, maybe they will have more suggestions.

Losing the weight is the reason for retaining the weekly services of a dietitian. As most know losing weight is not an easy task and she is working on changing many of the eating habits that got me to this point.
The diuretic that was prescribed was Furosemide A month at 10mg that did nothing then another month at 40mg that also did nothing. He has now got me an appointment with a heart specialist, first consultation happens today.
Support hose was recommended by my family doctor but theres no way i can get them on even with the XL size.
No salt in my diet.

You can find support hose that will fit you. They may not be the ones on the shelf at Walmart or the drug store, but you can order them. I had to wear them after I broke my leg, and I was 330 lbs and 5'4" and I bought some at Walgreens that fit. They're supposed to be quite a snug fit and it can be a challenge to put them on. I only used the ones that came up to the knees, because the swelling I was having was all in my lower leg.

You may need a doctor that specializes in lymphedema. You may need to use a compression pump for awhile to get your legs ready for compression stockings. Compression pump helped hubby greatly. The difference before & after he used the pump each day is amazing to see.

Of course, the important thing is to find the cause for it getting worse.

Some meds can cause swelling, so be sure the doctor knows all the meds you're taking, even over-the-counter ones.

Saw the doctor yesterday, he has set me up with an appointment to do some kind of radioactive testing, he suspects my heart maybe having decreased efficiency due to plaque build up, guess we'll find out.
