Hi CTR36. Yes, I do take vesicare. I have been taking it and simular pills for about 14 years now. It started when I was 30. I really don't remember how the cystoscopy felt. I don't think it hurt at all. It is just uncomfortable. I think they go right up through the utera tube. Kinda like a cathidor. Have you ever had one of those? THey are also painless. You feel stuff, but it is not pain.
I have been diagnosed with one of the worst cases they have ever seen. My spasms go clear off of the screen. They had never seen that before. My specialist is in Springfield. HE is one of the most studied in his field. I asked him why this is happening to me at my age and he said they don't have the answer to that. This is a man who has studied and worked this field for 38 years. He has a best friend in Indiana who is also a studied specialist like him and they wrote a book together about all this.
Did they tell you that your smooth bladder muscle is the cause? That is what is wrong with me. It just quit one day. He said nobody knows why it happens. He did say that my case was rare because it usually doesn't happen as bad as I have it, unless you are elderly. Gee thanks doc.
I am 44 now and have just recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, arthritis in my feet and disinegrated and disinegrating discs at the base of my spine, and a disc pushing back on my spine. I was told when my first specialist put me on these pills that I would not be able to take them for the rest of my life because they would start shutting down my major organs. Oh yea.
So I am assuming that my pills are drying up my joints and bones. Not fun.
My x-sister-in-law had a surgery to correct her problem. I guess we women have a tube in our uterus that is bent at the end. THat is what stops us from just peeing down our legs. Well hers was straightened out, which can happen through the years. Especially after having babies. So they went in and rebent it and it is fine now she said. There is also such a thing as slinging the bladder to take pressure off. It gets put into a sling just like what would be on a sprained arm or something.
In the beginning I was being treated for some kind of uterus disease. That was wrong. I never had that. My second specialist was dumbfounded by it. He said he couldn't figure out where he got his diagnosis for that. So if they try to give you these little treatments where they put some fluid in through a cathidor tube and you have to sit there and hold it for like 20mins. I think. It has been so long ago now that it is hard to remember it all. Get a second opinion if your doc wants to do these little treatments.
There are I think 5 different pills for this condition. I have been on all of them. I have to keep switching back and forth on them because my body gets immuned to them after about 3 months. This condition is not fun at all. I hope you don't get as bad as I have it. I have trouble trying to stay awake on these pills too. Ditropan is the worst one for me. I can't take that and function like a human being at all. My body does not tolerate drugs well.
Well good luck with this. I am on here off and on so let me know how you are doing with the pills. I know this may sound silly but I want to tell you to drink as much fluid as possible. Especially water. It will help to keep moisture in your joints spine. Always keep something to drink with you at all times. These pills will dry you up. I thought I was going to choke to death a couple of times. My throat would stick together and I am unable to make my mouth wet enough to swallow without my throat sticking. It was very scary. Maybe they don't effect you like that though. Everybodys system is different. I will look on here tomorrow to see if you got my post. Again, I'm sorry you have to go through this at a young age. I am in the process of filing for disability with this being one of the main reasons. Oh and stay close to a restroom.
