Google around to see if you can find a doc who practices independently of insurance, and specializes in difficult cases. If you can afford to pay a doc entirely out of pocket, he'll get tot he bottom of it, if he's any good. The kind of pain you're having doesn't indicate thyroid, and it's alarming. Especially combined with the dizziness. Maybe try a neurologist. Your case reads like one of those mystery cases the NY Times Magazine publishes on Sundays.
And yes, get checked for Lyme Disease. You never know... Just so you can rule it out.
Your TSH looks quite low. But you don't show the ranges from the T3 and T4 testing. Looking at my last T4 test, mine came up 1.36 and range was
.82-1.77.
Doctors too have different labs they use and the ranges etc. It's mindboggling on this thyroid stuff.
op sounds like you need further testing. with all the tests you have had and all say your thyroid is fine, why would your PA doctor or some other doctor check into other options. I had a low thyroid, had for years off and on. In fact when we had our first baby I almost miscarried because of low thyroid. I am on a mild thyroid med right now. Mine was picked up with a simple blood test
I have Hashimotos which wasn't picked up until an ND ran antibody tests. I'd had a few "thyroid" tests run previously (turned out to be only TSH when I dug up the paperwork years later). TSH was always normal so they always told me my thyroid was fine.
It took 16 months to figure out what my hubby has: Lupus along with psoriasis. His involves skin, thyroid, and lungs. His lupus never tested strong enough on the tests and his thyroid was fine for awhile.
Your conditions sound like you should see a rheumatologist. Gather all the tests and results and take them with you. Yes they will do more tests.
My husband saw two different dermatologists, a lung specialist, allergist, and rheumatologist. He went from skin problems and it's contact dermatitis to psoriasis and steroids never worked. His psoriasis never got better. Something else was going on. He lost weight, hard trouble swallowing, neck swollen, bags under the eyes, skin all over his body a deep red. Couldn't sleep or sleep in snatches. Fatigue is part of having lupus. Yeah. 16 months and we finally know what it is. Now it's getting the right meds at the right doses and see if they work.
Audio immune diseases are hard to diagnose. I don't know if that's what you have or not but a rheumatologist can figure it out. Or an internist.
I just posted more on the recent Fibro post, about thyroid and Fibro connection. Finding a Smart MD is so vital. One who will take time and hear symptoms.
