Crash: I've looked at the product you take and it looks very good but I take everything separately and I like to adjust accordingly for what is going on in my body. I just posted a new entry in Alt Med on Pycnogenol (pine bark) from another group I'm with and it's pretty thorough on many counts. Supplement means to fill in what is missing. So simple. OP's father could benefit but knowing men, many balk. My dad took pycnogenol one day and stopped, said it didn't do anything..I gave up...some you just can not get to.

B12 shots.

Iron pills.

And yes..fresh air and Sun...

My mother got a blood transfusion...it perked her right up! The one doc said...with all the years of redundant medications...a clean flush of healthy blood can help. And it did!!

B12 does nothing if you are not deficient in B12. Blood levels can be tested.

Men and postmenopausal women should seldom need iron. If they do a source of blood loss should be sought; it's usually the GI tract.

Prescribing a blood transfusion to perk someone up in the absence of significant anemia is malpractice.

do try to get him to one more doctor as suggested, but I also, as I reach the age your dad is and my husband reaches it as well, know one of the causes of senior depression is lack of activities. My husband is no longer driving so spends more time at home than I do but we both get our, do a lot of volunteer work and have a group of friends we socialize with as well as family around. We rarely turn the TV on until late in the afternoon, we do read a bit. Even that, unless you get out you are going to feel bad and depressed. Every little ache and pain is worse when you are alone. Get busy, not enough time to think of how tired or old you are

Jam, I have blocked you because you are obsessed over several topics. I try to avoid that. I have know about the discussion on various issues for years, including most people with heart attacks have normal cholesterol levels.
I have learned enough about supplements to know not to get in between people and their doctors. SO and I think her eventual recovery hinged on the particular supplements we added to the conventional surgery, chemo, radiation protocol.
I am content to bring these items into the discussion but I am not going to pound on people that do not accept my opinions.
Thanks for the + reps.

Some of the things you mention have effects we don't yet fully understand.
With discussions like this I always think of the scene in StarTrek where Dr Mcoy meets a woman going through dialysis and he gives her a little pill tpo fix her kidneys, givng his opinion of 20th century medicine, "What a bunch of Savages!"
None of us really know much about the operation of the human body yet. We are just beginning to learn and have to be more open to alternatives.

Yes, agree with this simple, natural suggestion. Can he sit outside in the morning and soak up some morning sunshine? There are many benefits to morning sunshine, not just Vitamin D.
