Tinnitus and hearing aid relief (doctor, tumors, medical, ears)

Had a hearing test normal for man that's 66. Constant ringing has anyone got hearing aids to help with offsetting the ringing and your experience.

I've had tinnitus most of my life. Now that I'm retired I thought that aids might help. Well......they didn't help me at all.

That said, if you haven't visited a doctor to find the cause of your tinnitus then that must be the first step before buying aids of any kind. Ringing in the ears can be a sure sign of tumors or some other medical problem.

There is no single rule of thumb.

I have tinnitus in both ears and hearing loss in one ear in the middle/conversational registers. My doc told me that he would fit me with a hearing aid if I wanted, but people with my pattern of hearing loss generally find that hearing aids drive them nuts. True, a hearing aid would boost the middle register, but it would also boost sounds like doors closing that I can hear just fine.

You need to get some advice targeted to you.
