Stop screwing around. It could be a cancer and you want to eliminate or treat that possibility real fast.

Did OP visit the dermatologist yet?

Go on ZocDoc and find a good one.

Penile cancer is extremely rare. Molluscum, HSV and HPV are all possibilities regardless of whether you use a condom or not. Get a culture swab and get it sent to a lab they will grow it in a petri dish, test the results and see what comes out.

Dare we ask for a picture?

No. Probably against C-D rules.

Go see a doctor.

My penis usually gets me into all sorts of trouble but I would listen to him in this case.
Some people grow hair there. Maybe it comes with age, because my husband used to have more hair on his head and less hair down south, but it's been migrating in recent years. It grows about half way up the shaft now. He tried plucking it before but that led to ingrown hairs. That's how I know you can get ingrown hairs there.

Not the end of the world if it is, though. But seriously no matter what, go see a doctor. Regular doctor is fine, dermatologist is fine, just get a medical pro to have a look at you. Don't be scared. Many of us ladies have been getting pretty invasive exams of our business since, oh, within a year or two of puberty. It's no big deal.

Just don't let anything stop you from getting it checked out.
Exactly this. The virus STD’s can also be dormant for many years with no symptoms at initial infection, with an out of the blue outbreak with trauma or a weakened immune system. In your case it sounds unlikely but it should be checked out. And woah, what a thread. And seriously OP, hope it is OK.

If it was mine, I would go to a family practice Dr. or at least an urgent care clinic asap, and not apply otc products, especially benzoyl peroxide...never heard of that product recommended for a penis.

No, whatever you do please for the love of JH Christ do not go see your PCP it is a waste of money.

PCPs are useless. Some are good, but they are mostly booked and do not accept new patients.

Whenever possible see a SPECIALIST. Hopefully your insurance does not require a referral. If it does, you need to quit your job and get a new one with a better healthcare plan. I hear referral paperwork is a ***** to deal with. Hopefully you have a "Freedom" "Choice" or "POS" type plan that allows you to see a specialist without a referral as long as they are in-network it should be $20.

If your foot hurts - See a Podiatrist.
If your penis hurts on the inside - See a Urologist
If your skin looks weird or feels weird - Dermatologist
If your back hurts - This can be vague. In this case, PCP first

Now there are some conditions where a PCP will be cheaper depending on your insurance or simply easier to reach. If you are having vague neurological symptoms for example since supposedly the PCP knows your history see them first to rule out medication side effects etc.

I agree about the specialist. I do know someone who went to his PCP for something similar, got an STD test and got a false positive for herpes.

Only he didn't know it was a false positive for about a month. So this guy, who is married, went through hell trying to explain to his wife what that bump was and swore that he had NOT been with anyone else. It was a complete nightmare.

He has not had any "outbreaks" at all since he had that one mysterious bump. And he never did get a good diagnosis.
