First, for some reason the surgery took 12 hours(not kidding) in what is usually a 3 to 4 hour operation. Then the Dr. didn't get all the electrodes in so he said it would never be as good as a successful CI operation. Then I went for the activation and that is when the trouble began. The next day after the activation I had extreme vertigo, dizziness, imbalance etc. It has been 2 and one half weeks and I am just starting to get back to normal. It was a terrible experience. Anyone else had an experience like that or know someone who has from a CI implant? I was afraid(and still am) that there might be something permanent that I have to deal with. I just cross my fingers at this point and hope for the best.
Rush Limbaugh has 2 cochlear implants, he is fully deaf without them. He talked quite a bit on his show about the problems he had when he upgraded from analog to digital.
