I have one that’s about 10 years old. My readings have been high. I tried a newer one that a friend had and readings were better. Could an old machine give higher readings? Going to purchase a new one but want to get the right one.

the older ones tend to be more accurate, in our experience.

I have an Omron also about 10 years old. Mine gives lower readings than my manual cuff/stethoscope does. I prefer the manual ones.

Take your meter to your doc's office for your next appt and see if it's still calibrated correctly.

Some offices allow you to call ahead and see if nurse can check BP with meter and with their equipment to check calibration, call and ask

My old one, probably much older than 10 checked out fine with doctors,I am somewhat dependent on my Omron and because of age replaced it,both read the same and ok at doctors, brand new only $40 on ebay, good insurance.
There were times when Primary Care and Cardioligist questioned it.
They have a hard time getting reading because of white coat.
