Back in the day I had a health & science teacher say that every time there is a slow news day a new health issue is brought up. I guess this is the latest.

This story is not a new "health issue", it's about genetic research using menstrual blood that could repair damaged hearts without the need for costly and dangerous heart transplants. I would call this "significant health news"!

Only a small amount of menstrual blood is required to culture the cells, this could be expressed and collected from the cervix in a doctor's office.

Ah..., the blood serum is not being "put back", the stem cells that are contained in the menstrual blood are cultivated to produce smooth heart muscle cells, these are the cells that are "put back" in the body to repair damaged heart cells.
