Thanks for picking this thread up! I was drinking every day, usually starting at about 5 pm (the news) and drinking slowly but steadily through the evening. I used this black plastic cup that held about 24 oz. A person could not tell how much was in it (very sneaky!). I bought the boxed wine from Bi-mart, Costco, Walmart, whoever had the best deal. I usually drank at least one of those a week.
I only blacked out a couple of times. BTW-since this thread ended, I started drinking again. I had a black out episode about 3 weeks ago and decided that was it. I attend AA meetings on Zoom several times a day. It's very cool!
Willamette City - I don't have any suggestions for you just wanted to say I hope this time you will stay sober.
You are the only person that can do it and you CAN do it. As I told myself when I quit a 2-pack a day smoking habit cold turkey "just don't ever pick one up again". And I haven't in 10+ years.

Here is what is really amazing. We have access to a spreadsheet, developed by an alcoholic for alcoholics which has most, if not all of the on-line meetings. We can attend a meeting an hour, strictly for Atheists and agnostics. I average two 1 hour meetings a day. They are amazingly helpful!
Read The Naked Mind book by Annie Grace. It’s helped many people quit and some have experienced spontaneous sobriety fairly quickly after reading the book. She also has a online support group and closed Facebook group which are free.
