Hi, all. Just wanted to talk about sleeping pills and people's experiences. I currently take deptran most nights..have been on and off for a year. I'm meant to take one but sometimes I take two before I sleep. Tonight, not more than a hour ago after trying to sleep for a few hours as I'm tired, I closed my eyes. I'll put the scene out. I had instrumental music that I'm familiar with in the background. Beforehand I thought I was seeing a presence of the colour red on the right side I sleep in the dark. Felt like I saw something on the curtain I turned my flashlight on and nothing was there. Hallucinations? To the point of the post, I closed my eyes then I knew I was going into a different area. Lost consciousness/cell asleep but dreaming/visualing the scene. I'm on a bed and suddenly I'm trapped from behind by a female with what feels like a negative spirit. I'm anxious as things are in slow motion, she's got me trapped, I saw to her get off me and she replied I have a knife. I still manage to push her back and then I lift and open my eyes. Usually I would say this might be sleep paralysis but I've had the before and when I get it I literally cannot move, not even in my dream. This one I moved in my dream.

The laugh she had was sadistic and scary. With the meds I'm taking I know a side effects is bad nightmares I sometimes get vivid dreams but the one I get often are not like tonight. Was it a dream or a hallucination. I should also point out as I fell "asleep" the background music on my phone I could not hear anymore I just heard other kind of sound. Like a loud sound.

Anyone got any experiences with sleeping pills and anti depressants and opinions on what I just shared? Thanks.

I once had a nightmare that a faceless black-cloaked figure was strangling me in bed. I'm sure it was apnea induced. It only happened once. I wasn't taking any antidepressants or sleeping pills.

If you have chest pain do not ask for advice on the internet! Get to doctor.

If you are convinced you will live until morning call and ask if you can change to meds with less side effects. Or lower your dose.
