I was wondering what treatments have helped... alternative and traditional? There is an overwhelming amount of information on the web... what has worked for you?
I have found the Buteyko breathing method to be very helpful for asthma, chronic bronchitis, and recurrent pneumonia. It is supposed to be helpful for other COPD such as emphysema.
The Buyteko technique is counter to current medical technique of dilating the bronchial tubes. However, if the theory is correct then it goes a long way to explaining the rise in asthma rates.
As far as supplements, Astragalus is a good herb for the lungs and immune system. I take Lung Caps from Solaray. They contain lung glandular which I have found helpful too.
Outlawing cigarettes would be a good start to helping eliminate emphysema, among other diseases.
