Have any of you ever experienced anything like this?
I wonder why the doctor thinks it's not the kidneys and liver, considering she's got kidney disease? When I read your thread headline, that was what I came here to post. When someone has undiagnosed itching, it's very often the excretory system malfunctioning.
Did you miss my reply that says itching is a known cause of kidney issues?
Maybe your friend needs a better doctor.
As I'm pretty sure I mentioned, they've determined that it's not kidney-related. She has run this by a batch of doctors so far.

Yeah, I wondered that, too.
What kind of kidney issues are you having?
There are people that have a small amount of one thing off in their bodies that will give symptoms when it shouldn't. Everyone is different. If you have known kidney issues, something is off and it could be just enough to cause the itching even though this doctor and her batch of doctors said no.
