Hi Folks:
I am having severe troubles with my back, hips, pelvis and foot-drop. I injured my "back" while wrestling in late '19;, experienced severe back pain and foot drop a day or two later; and it has remained ever since. I have been to numerous chiropractors, gone through nucca treatment, tried various stretches and therapy-all to no avail. At present I am experiencing left leg/foot weakness, pelvic pain, and lower back pain. My latest x-rays showed the cartilage loss in my L5 (which I have been trying to regrow with silicia, C, gelatin, gotu, etc.); sacrum tilt; and a possible issue with my facet joint.

Now, I have an appointment with my doctor on the 23rd and an M.R.I. is scheduled. There have been talks of surgery of some sort, and it has me quite scared and sick. I hate that desperation is getting the best of me. This thing has affected me greatly, and I don't feel that I am getting competent care. I am just at a total loss as to what I should be treating first, and how I should be treating it.

I have had so many differing opinions on this. A few have said the cartilage loss isn't major; another that it's my sacrum being imbalanced by 17mm causing the issues; another that the L5 disc is toast and my L5 facets are impacting my L4 nerve roots; another that some slight adjustment using Nucca over a months time will open things up; and another that the scoliosis kicked off everything. I am beyond perplexed at this point. Just here looking for some guidance.

No one on this forum should be dispensing such specific medical advice. Way way above the C-D pay grade. The "opinions" you're likely to get here are worth what you paid for them...almost nothing. Get the imagery done and discuss it with your providers. If you don't like their recommendations sounds as if you already know what you need to do. Wishing you good luck OP!

All I can tell you is to get multiple opinions and don't rush into surgery. Back surgery has a high failure rate and you are often better off waiting for you body to heal itself. My father had a herniated disc in the neck but he avoided surgery and it got better after many months of therapy.

I developed foot drop with my back pain, and surgery was a complete success.
