They've been sending me eight tests a month since the start of the year, just got the consignment for April. I read that the program ends next month.

We've been passing them on to friends, since we sure don't need more than 30 tests.

The Feds are now telling us that Covid tests don't expire just because there's an expiration date printed on the box. I've known for years that the "expiration date" is often used for marketing purposes.

Here is a list of common at-home tests and their "real" expiration dates:

Also ordered free ones from USPS (last time we got 4 of them).

It would be nice if they listed a cut off date so people know if they're still sending free kits. I ordered kits for our house, my daughters, plus I did it for a friend who had a stroke.

It's good to have them on hand with my grandson for when he gets sick. If he has COVID symptoms he gets tested.

CVS prompted me to get free* COVID-19 tests when I was getting my regular prescriptions refilled last week.

The asterisk was that my health insurance (which they already had on file) was being billed for the entire cost of the tests. Not exactly free tests from the Feds.

I'm guessing that the pharmacy at Safeway Grocers might be doing the same.

You'd be surprised. Just a few days ago I saw a guy walking along a semi-rural road, by himself, wearing a mask. But he wasn't bothering anyone so it didn't bother me.

I just looked at one of my “expired” ones last month and the swabs had yellowed. I decided that probably meant they had expired and threw them away. I just ordered another set this morning.
