A recent study found younger vapers and cigarette smokers were more likely to use pot and/or binge drink

https://www.publichealth.columbia.ed...-substance-use

Also showed regular nicontine use can lead to binge drinking.

In some respects it's a confirmation because it's what have observed over the decades. Smokers especially the regular smokers are more like to smoke pot and dabble in other stuff. In the day age of decades of news, research etc for anyone to smoke or vape with regularity helps show their desire for intoxication. I guess smoking is bad for you is old news the newer/younger generation hasn't been exposed to.

Yeah. If you have bad judgement you will do all sorts of stupid things. Substances, sex, relationships, jobs - pretty much everything goes to pot (heh-heh) when you have bad judgement.

Responsible behavior can be learned by some people - most people, I think. But there is that percentage who cannot learn what is best.

This is not a surprise. It has long been known that one of the characteristics of cigarette smokers is a higher tolerance for risk. Makes sense that it's not just for tobacco.

There are likely other factors, like finding out that substances make you feel better. Temporarily.

After I quit smoking, a few people asked me if I felt better. Of course not. SMOKING made me feel better. But it also made me smell bad and waste money and time because I was addicted to the thing that made me feel better.

Smoking always made me feel gross, weak, dependent and addicted. Oh sure I got the little buzz too, but that was short-lived. I felt WAY better when I quit, although I could have done without the 18 months of constant craving for something I actually hated.
