(lots of ginger )
It turns out I have cough tablets ,so I am taking some ,I also took anti oxidant pills.
We used to get those test Kits free ,now it is costing me $25.73 for 2 tests
We stocked up on the kits. Must have remaining 6 kits, some 4 tests and some 2 test packages.
Some kits are probably expired but, if one has all the symptoms for covid xx, a positive test result is telling you something you already knew with high confidence. A negative test, would mean that you could have the flu which is still a contagious illness that seniors (me) would rather not get.

I only had a minor loss of smell/taste. Only a mild physical symptoms but I felt nausea and weak for the two days in bed.
My test only had rather faint blue line when I was the sickest..Spouse had a strong blue line.

This is my third day since tested positive.
I am taking Paxlovid every 10 hours, not sure if it works?
Hot chicken soup helps,so is ice cold water.
I have lost sense of smell but can still taste food.
Mild fever, not much coughing, but the fever bothers me.bu as long as I am not getting breathing problem,I am not going to complain/
I always wear a mask when I go out, then I figure it is over so I skipped wearing a mask.
I cant believe this virus is still around after 2 years??

I believe covid has taken its place among other endemic viruses that make their way around the population every now and then. You know, like cold viruses, flu viruses? Personally, I think it's here to stay. Which is why, in my humble opinion, covid should be treated like all viral respiratory illnesses. That is, to treat it symptomatically, take care of yourself, rest, take OTC meds to help you feel better as needed, do your best to stay away from others, and should you start showing signs of getting sicker, ie, fever returns after being normal, developing respiratory problems that become worse, contact your healthcare provider for help.

I think when we had covid in April our fevers stuck around for 4- 5 days, as did the sore throat, but the other symptoms ( stuffed up sinuses, bronchitis in my case, and general tiredness lasted for 2-3 weeks and gradually got better. The loss of taste and smell lasted longer than that, and even now while it's improved it's still there to some extent.

We didn't take Paxlovid, or contact our doctors. I'd hope your taking Paxlovid would shorten the duration of your symptoms.

I am surprised you would think the virus is no longer around, here we are told it is now endemic. My state is just getting over its seventh wave and in the country there are about 1600 people in hospital with covid. We no longer have any legal requirements in terms of isolating but people are encouraged to stay home for a few days.
What is raging here in our winter seems to be the common cold. I had one recently for the first time in about five years. Also lots of flu and RSV.

Exactly. The covid virus is not going anywhere, it will just keep mutating. They recently found it going back and forth between humans and deer. It's one of those animals to humans viruses. However, there is supposed to be a more up-to-date inoculation coming this Fall.

Are you feeling well or getting feeling worse? I imagine if the antivirals don't work, you could use, 1) anecdotal remedies; 2) let Covid run its course; 3) Symptomatic and Palliative care; 4) Pray.

My doctor, early Spring, declined to prescribe antivirals on my 2nd day in bed. Said that not of much use at that stage & drugs were being rationed to those of higher risk. Fully vax'd at that time. IIRC, We lost the line 5 days after getting out of bed.

You can tell approximately where you are in the illness downhill phase by how long it takes dark is positive indicator

I think we are behind on that latest vax regime. We will get vax for the flu and covid this fall.

Not sure what it is but I surely wouldn’t be drinking hot tea or hot soup with a fever. If anything, cold water. Starve a fever, right?
