I have suffered from reactive hypoglycemia my entire adult life.
Usually I feel the effects after eating a meal low in protein and high in sugar and/or carbs, especially spaghetti or a large amount of sweets.

But something different has happened, the last two times I have had an episode it has been after a low carb meal (chicken & Salad) and it was much worse than what I am used to feeling. And unlike other times where I was able to eat some peanut butter to counteract the feeling there was nothing I could do to feel better for hours.

If anyone is knowledgeable in this area I would like to hear your opinion about what could cause this.

Thank you.

Yeap i have the same thing as we have an hyper-active Pancreas with strong Insulin responses which is not good long term. If i have just coffee on an empty stomach and no breakfast by lunch time i'll have extreme weakness and dizzyness so i'll can't skip breakfast and so i have a balanced meal with Protein, Carb and Fat with each meal is my best way to eat with this. Kinda like a Zone or Body For Life diet.

Are you taking Chromium or Magnesium Supplements as this could enhance Reactive Hypoglycemia and also try to increase your fat intake (olive oil) with each meal as this will slow absorption and lessen the Insulin response.

Maybe it has developed into full diabetes. Go to the doctor and check for that ASAP.

No symtoms at all. But they ran tests and discovered it. But a friend also had it she decribed her symtoms they were like yours. Do you have a monitor? IF you dont request 1 from the dr...thats what I am doing.

By had "it" are you referring to high blood sugar?

I just don't find much online about this kind of stuff unless they are addressing diabetes.

Do you find that doctors take hypoglycemia or in your case hyperglycemia symptoms seriously?

I don't have a monitor.
