I believe that it is due to a virus...my husband and I are experiencing the same things. Parvo-virus to be exact, we were both exposed and then we started having all these weird symtoms.

Mitral Valve Prolapse is only a relatively benign condition when you are young. As you age, it will become a significant concern. I've gone from mild to moderate/severe in the last few years, all after age 55, and they're talking to me about valve repair surgery.

I had heart palpitations when I was hyperthyroid. I was also taking Claritin-D at the time. Bad combo.

I was having those about 3 years ago and the holter showed that it skipped about 300 times over the 24 hours! Isn't that like every beat? She said it was not dangerous, but I didn't like it. Then I started to take olive leaf extract and my ticker runs along smoothly these days--I didn't get retested, but it's not keeping me up at night these days. I used some hawthorn too, but didn't get the dramatic results that I did with the OLE.

A few questions about you and your husband: what are your diets like and are you both overweight? Do you have pets? Do you drink energy drinks, and/or combine them with alcohol? Lots of artificial sweeteners? Do you live near a lot of infrastructure, like what orngkat mentioned? And no orngkat, I don't think that's off the wall at all--a lot of people are having these probs these days, and the frequency of it seems to be something new--it stands to reason that all those radio waves could throw something as delicate as your internal electrical system out of whack.

And pitt transplant, I would add blood sugar problems onto your list--mine started shortly after x-mas, and I had indulged mightily in the sugar treats that year--I love to bake cookies and I went nuts and then paid.

This may sound silly and I get laughed at, but when my cholesterol is in "normal" range, I have them all the time. Now that my cholesterol is what they call "high" I can't remember the last time I felt them.
