I've noticed a strange thing happening over the last couple of weeks and it has me curious, so I'm wondering if other people have had the same thing happen. Fairly regularly, I wake up during the night and it always seems to be at the same times - 3:43 AM and 5:17 AM. Last night I woke up at 3:42 and again at 5:16 (either I was off or my clock was off). I roll over and fall right back to sleep, but it is so odd to me that it would happen multiple nights at the same exact time.

Anyone else ever have this happen? Any thoughts as to why?

Thanks.

I wake up at 2AM-2:15AM each morning; no matter what time I go to bed. Sometimes I wake up again around 5-often I do; but I always do the 2-2:15 AM thing. No idea why.

I have no idea why this happens, but the same thing happens to me. It was happening every night and I am sure it still does. With these things said, I do not have a remedy besides turning the clock around.

My doctor and I have talked about sleep issues quite often. I have a very hard time falling asleep. He has explained to me many times that sleep is about habits. I have a hard time falling asleep because all my life, starting from when I was an infant and young child even, I have stayed up very very late, into the very early morning hours. In recent years I've been trying to train myself to go to bed at a more regular time, but my body is still keeping those old habits of not falling asleep until 2 or 3 in the morning.

Perhaps this is why this happens... your body has somehow come into the habit of waking up at these times, so that is why it keeps happening. I don't really know how you would stop this from happening though. You are so lucky that you are able to go right back to sleep!

My internal body clock tends to do the same too. NO MATTER what time I go to sleep, it can be midnight or later, I'd still wake up around 5:30am. The worst part is, it's hard to go back to sleep once I'm up. So I sit there, and after some effort, manage a little catnap before the alarm clock goes off. It also happens on weekends.
